About the film
Boris Ivanovich announces that he is in love with someone else. His wife, Marina Petrovna, refuses to give him a divorce; she simply does not believe he is serious. Their eighteen-year-old daughter takes her mother's side.
Then the daughter meets Vasya, a young taxi driver, and goes off with him to visit his parents in Novgorod. Her worried mother and father set off after her, and on the road they start to remember why they married.
A gentle family comedy from a script by Emil Braginsky, the co-writer of many of Ryazanov's best films.
